It's About Time (& the Warren Telechron Co.'s Electric Clocks)
This image is not flopped over. The Telechron clock hung on the wall for over 20 years at the "R-Club" - an old neighborhood bar in Mountain View, California. It was located on the wall behind the patrons so that they could look into the large mirrors behind the bar and see the clock "right-reading". We "acquired" it when the R-Club shut down in 1998. It kept time perfectly except for some power outages such as the Loma Prieta earthquake in '89.
This Telechron is probably one of the first "digital" electric clocks. It uses the same 1-rpm motor that all Telechrons used, but has an amazing mechanical transmission to move the digits exactly one increment at the appropriate moment. We "acquired" this one at a flea market on Cape Cod from a women whose name (really) is Elizabeth Taylor. It was her grandfathers and kept time on the mantle for many years.
